*******************Lacrosse Wall Ball Routine*****************

  • All wall ball drills must be performed with both hands and with gloves on!!!
  • Stand about 5-7 yards from the wall and away from all windows & cars
  • Put in full effort for 20 minutes at a time, 3-4 times a week, and your stick skills WILL improve significantly in a short period of time.

  1. Catch and one cradle - Throw, catch, one cradle, repeat

     30 Times with Right Hand

     30 Times with Left Hand

  1. Quick Sticks – Throw, catch, and throw back against the wall w/o cradling

     30 Times with Right Hand

     30 Times with Left Hand

  1. Face Dodge – Throw, catch, face dodge, repeat

           30 Times with Right Hand

           30 Times with Left Hand

  1. Split Dodge – Throw right, catch right, split to left hand, throw left, catch left, and split back to right hand – 50 total passes (25 with each hand)

    5. Quick Sticks (switch hands while ball is in the air) – Switch hands on every toss while the ball is still in the air.  So, throw right and catch left or throw left and catch right (best drill for eye-hand coordination)

Performing this entire routine with both hands will take most players 15-20 minutes.  Don’t be discouraged if it takes you more time early on; you can start by setting a number less than 30 repetitions and work your way up.  The most important thing is to be on the wall consistently and with a purpose.  Give at least 15-20 minutes, 3-4 times a week, and push yourself to improve.  You WILL see results and if you record each week the numbers of catches you can make consecutively you will see the improvement as soon as the first week!!!
